Losing confidence in Bravo Studios

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

When I started using Bravo Studios at the beginning to build my app, it was a smooth and great experience. However, 2-3 weeks ago, I started encountering issues that totally hindered my work process and MVP date.

  • My input form is tagged properly with POST and was working fine but suddenly it is not sending data to my Airtable anymore. I've troubleshooted so many times but it still isn't working.
  • My Airtable API wasn't able to send data at all previously - it is fixed. But when I recreate another API collection, I still see the error message "Request was successfull but no data was sent back in the response, this behaviour is set by the backend you are using." despite checking and re-checking my JSON.

I've dropped Bravo an email but am still yet to receive a response. How is it possible that I used the exact same JSON, the exact same tagging, but data submitted on my input form is not populating on my API? I also see a massive increase in questions and errors faced by other users on the most basic features.

As a product owner, these frequent error encounters give me very low confidence in Bravo and how I should navigate if my product is launched and these errors surface again. Bravo team, if you are reading this, I would suggest working on feature enhancement rather than introducing new functionalities. Bravo Studio is a great platform but please, the existing issues need to be resolved asap.

Hi , first of all, sorry for the issues you're experiencing. We understand it can be tricky sometimes to troubleshoot API issues. One of our current goals is improving this experience, and we hope we can release some improvements in the following months.

Besides, our support resources are limited and we have a compromise to get back via email within 2 business days (although we try to answer faster when possible).

Thanks for the feedback in any case, we hope we can help you unblock these issues and get your MVP released soon.

My AirTable APIs work ok. Both old ones and new ones I just created few days ago.

There might be some issues you missed, or even tagging containers or element wrongly.

It's tough to say without being able to see your file.

It might be worth connecting your APIs again and going through the documentation to make sure you didn't miss a step.

I completely agree. Even I'm losing faith.

I've spent quite a lot of money to avail the Ole plan and have upgraded to a Pro app 4 months in a row because I thought I was close to a launch but there's always some new issue that comes up which is not in my control, and the process of understanding how to fix it takes so long because of the email cycles being too long and unavailable on weekends (which is when I get time to work on the product properly). So I then have to wait for Monday again, and get a reply on Wednesday maybe but not everything will be solved and the cycle continues.

I've now paid for a Pro app for 4 months and Ole for much longer without even launching the Beta version of the app. I found interested beta testers over a month ago and I still don't have anything to show them.

Also, I get that there's a community here to help with stuff that we'd want to achieve but at the end of the day Bravo is still a product and not an open-source programming language, so if there's technical issues or complex ways to implement basic features we will require all the help from the Product and Support team.

In fact, I think there should be someone dedicated to responding to queries posted on this community, which haven't been solved.

Hi, sorry you are getting stuck. I know sometimes it can be hard to troubleshoot over email, particularly when there are several issues. One option would be to ask questions at the live streamed q&a we do most fridays.

but they never allow to ask questions about project related issues, on the otherside Xano users for istance can

Agreed, I'd go as far to say that 'customer success' should be a priority area for hiring at Bravo Studio. The more users you help succeed in building their apps, the more evangelists and just general growth you'll have as a platform.

Agree also need to take into accout this: no-code backend has a very shallow learning curve: if you understand IF and FOR cycles and have basic experience with arrays or other data structure, you need less then a week to figure it out what is going on. Bravo studio requires specific knowledge for every single feature that needs to be implemented, many are not intuitive and can't be inferred by others.
Therefore I took about 3 weeks to dev my backend, my frontend is not ready after already 8 weeks, and there are many things missing
