Can we pass variables to different containers that are on the same app screen?

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Let's say I have three containers:

  1.  Header

--> Get API from Airtable, that show some data on top.
--> Use a variable to hold that data.

2. Body

--> Use the variable from the Header container.
--> Post it onto another table on Airtable.

3. Footer
--> No API call here, just some designs.

I want to know if this can be done, because I've tried it myself and it got some errors.
So I'm not sure if I got it incorrectly, or it just can't be processed this way.

Thank you 🙂

Hi! This is one of the first questions I had when approaching Bravo. Unfortunately no one from the Bravo team or support managed to answer me. I've found anyway a turnaround to how to do this thanks to another Bravo user but I'm not sure it's the best manner. Therefore I'll follow the thread with interest

I built a screen that shows company data at the top of the page (coming from Airtable). Below I've a container that shows offers from this company (2nd request with companyID on offers table). That works fine. Now I've a second page with the same structure - an offer at the top and company information below - and that is not working. The offer contains the companyID (as a lookup field) which is used to retrieve the company information. I can show this id (variable) on the screen, so I know it's available. But still it is not used in the query. Don't know whether it has to with loading priorities (2nd query runs before variable is available at runtime). Or it is a problem because it is a lookup field. Strange. So you scenario should work, but I still miss something here.

It surprises me how simple things that should be done effortlessly, can become such a troublesome on Bravo Studio.

May be we are on the wrong platform.
