Can you create a scalable app with Bravo?

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hi all, I'm SO impressed with Bravo. The tool is fantastic.

We hare the UX/UI done for our app and I have made a functioning version. This could potentially save us a fortune in developer time!

Our company is called Velloy & it's is a private membership for exclusive events. Our members log into our app, see event listings & request access to attend.

My question: is it feasible to use this for our company as the final solution to development/version of our app?

If we use Xano backend for example, is this scalable to say 1,000 users? 10,000? users? 100,000? Has there been much load testing if we do an influencer campaign and have 1,000 users on in a minute, could it crash?

I'm trying to understand if this is more of a prototyping tool or we could feasibly use it forever. Thank you for your help.

Hey Hugo,

We are glad to hear that you are enjoying Bravo! Definitely you can use it as the final solution to your app. Just make sure we support your requirements in terms of features: Check out our documentation or navigate through the community if you have any question.

Regarding scalability, it will depend mostly on the backend you use since Bravo is 100% scalable and will allocate additional resources on demand. If you use Xano they offer good plans and a flexible technology based on Docker and Kubernetes in Google Cloud, allowing their systems to scale horizontally and vertically.

Check the Xano plans for more info: https://www.xano.com/pricing/

Hope this helps!

Hey Diego, thanks that's super helpful. When the apps published to app store & on a better back-end than Airtable would the speed improve? I ask because from list view click -> detail page there is about 3-4 second load time for each listing

Thanks again!

Great question. I was wondering this myself. The issue with Bravo vs. some other no-code tools is that it's difficult, or perhaps not possible, to scale actual code on top of it.

In my previous company we built on Bubble (no-code), then built alongside Bubble with our own tech stack as we scaled.

Another thing to consider regarding scalability is whether Bravo could support the additional functions you'd like for your membership app. Since it is a private community, even you might want to include social functions for it. Bravo still doesn't do this too well. There are functions for commenting, liking, but for slightly more advanced features like messaging, groups, calls, I don't see it working too well. Would be good to see if this is also on Bravo's imminent product roadmap.

I would recommend to test a better backend as soon as possible so you don't encounter any issues afterwards.

In any case, 3-4 seconds load time for Airtable seems strange. How many records do you have? Does it take such time when triggering the request on the API Collection in Bravo Studio?

You can try Directus as your backend "no-code" tool. You can deploy it with the most robust set of features with AWS, GCP, or a simple digital ocean droplet. The scalability is all yours to explore, and you will have the same freedom Xano or Backendlesss can provide. Bravo is great, but like every no-code tool, it has some limitations that can stop your growth if it depends on some specific feature that Bravo still does not support. In cases like this, I recommend you give Draftbit and FlutterFlow a try to future-proof your app. Go with Bravo for the first versions, explore the market, make your MVP as fast as possible, then, when times come to go even further, you will be ready to use Flutterflow (Flutter/Dart), or Draftbit (Expo/React-Native) to take-off

Ps.: Never, under any circumstances, spend your time with Adalo. It does not worth it! Especially if you have performance and scalability in mind.

Xano is scalable. It is basically Postgres database in Google Cloud and you have your own instance.

Directus is also good but they have much less education content compared to Xano.

Directus is better if you have mostly content management (like instagram) with limited business logic. Xano is better if you need to also build out custom business logic
