Change color of UI elements from API

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hi all, I'm trying to figure out if I can change the background color of a detail page from the API.

For example:

  • Detail page has a grey background
  • Airtable entry specifies the detail page elements: Text, image, background color
  • Airtable > Bravo changes background color on each page based on API get "background color"

Is this possible? Or do I need to pass a full-screen PNG for the background instead? That seems slower to do.

Thanks in advance!

**Hint: I'm not sure what this "Visibility" type on my element binding means.

Regarding visibility:

If you create and select an airtable field of the type ´checkbox´, you can click on the checkboxes to choose whether you want this ´instructions´ frame to appear in the list.

It can also be applied on a smaller level to any element within the frame.

I hope I am being clear!

Thanks  that makes sense regarding checkboxes.

Regarding API/color - I checked around the community logs and looks like the feature isn't out yet but is on the to-do list from Bravo.

For now I ended up passing full JPEGs as the background color 😅  Hopefully latency doesn't become an issue.

Hi ! We don't support binding of the color property yet, but it's on our feature roadmap :)

Just wondering if the color property is already available...
I'm making my first bindings from Baserow.
