Conditional Login?

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Is there a way to allow the user to see pages in the app without logging in? Then show the login screen when they interact with something that needs a login such as favoriting an item?

Hey, this would be helpful for sure! Not sure, but I guess it should be possible, since using conditional visibility can allow you to also show/hide certain UI elements to specific users. So the backend should be set up in a way that the API validates which users are not logged in, and then show, for instance, a log in modal only to those users. 🤔

I have created a video about that topic a couple of months ago using Integromat for the logic part but it hasn't been published yet due to Integromat's rebranding. Let me know if you want me to send you the video and I could ask if I can release it. It basically works as Juan described. Send an API request every time the locked page is opened and then navigate to the login page when the API returns an error. The Figma file is already public: https://www.figma.com/community/file/1058414009104291675
I hope this helps :)

Hello, I can have the link of the video. Because I made the conditional manually with Figma files

Hi Stephan, the video has been killed off unfortunately but I heard that there is a new one being planned by the Bravo team in the next weeks.

All - The Sign up wall in the middle of the app (example when favoriting etc..) is more involved and don't believe it's currently supported by Bravo. But hopefully it's on the roadmap soon.

Oh jeez that would be cool. Does anyone have data on its effectiveness for DAUs or some user interaction? I'm seeing in my analytics users download the app, but only a fraction continue after hit with a login wall. I'm not sure if there is mobile app data on how well it works to do a delayed login like mentioned above?

If you still have that link (or the updated version you mention) I'd take the DM :D

I've just sent it. I don't know anything about the updated version though...
