Create a playlist

Hello, I am making a "tv time" type application, I would like to add the functionality of being able to create lists where the user can then add the films he is interested in. Do you have any idea how to do it please?

Uding airtable you can have a main list and then users chose the films they whant to see that will show on a diferent list with just the ones user select (thus lust will be individual per user).

That sounds like a great feature to add! Implementing a playlist or “watchlist” function can really boost user engagement—just create a user-specific database structure where each account can save a list of selected movie IDs or titles. You can use local storage for smaller apps or cloud-based solutions like Firebase for scalability. Also, if you're looking for inspiration or content sources, check out Magis TV, a free streaming app that offers a wide variety of movies and series—perfect for testing and populating your watchlist feature!

You can implement a playlist feature by allowing users to create custom lists within their profile and then save or remove movies they’re interested in directly from your catalog. Each list can be stored in a simple database structure (like user ID + list name + movie IDs), making it easy for users to organize what they want to watch later. This is similar to the “watchlist” or “favorites” feature seen in many streaming platforms, which keeps engagement high and gives users a reason to return often. If you’d like some inspiration on how playlists enhance user experience, you can check out free streaming apps like MovieBox, where users can easily browse, organize, and enjoy movies seamlessly.

That’s a great idea for a “TV Time”-style app! You can implement this by creating a list model in your database (e.g., a “UserLists” table) where each user can create multiple lists, and then link movies to those lists using a many-to-many relationship (like a “ListItems” table storing movie IDs). On the frontend, provide a simple UI to create, name, and manage lists, plus an “Add to List” button for each movie. You can also enhance it with features like sorting, favorites, or watch status—similar to how platforms like Plex download let users organize and stream their media collections seamlessly.
