Critical Pagination Bug within Bravo

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021โ€“2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hey there, I discovered that pagination is broken atm.

Whenever you create a new request with pagination, the page parameter is not set / auto-deletes itself. Same thing within offset or other categories. I noticed that the issue is also related to the "starts with" field, because it auto-deletes at the same time. As of now, I can only have inputs in this field with requests that have existed beforehand, but even there the page parameter field seems to no longer pass the data to the backend anymore.

Can you please take a look into this and let me know if you can fix it? Thanks!

Hi Dennis. Apologies for that; there was a huge refactor in the state management for requests and I mixed up the startWith and startWithParam params apparently ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

If you try now it should be resolved.

Thanks for report ๐Ÿ™‡

Thanks for the quick reply and fix Mike, much appreciated! :)

I think there's still a bug in there. Pagination itself works with a normal request again, but once you input a query parameter that utilises a remote action variable Pagination stops working and just returns one page.

I initially guessed it has something to do with the page parameter (page), but another request works perfectly fine with it. Setup on backend is also the same for both and works fine in any simulation (both in Xano and Bravo). Maybe the page parameter doesn't get passed correctly to the backend anymore if there's a query parameter?

Could you take another look into it? Let me know if you have any questions ๐Ÿ™
edit after further testing: keyword searches via variables work - this might be a general bug for Pagination when working with search indexes in your backend then :(

Hey Dennis. I'm sorry you're still having issues. Query parameter editing works by manipulating the URL of the request; since this seems to work correctly and does not affect pagination parameters I guess you're having problems on the execution side of it?

Would you have time to record a quick loom as you did before demonstrating the issue? Also, if you're testing on a device please let us know what the device is and which OS version it's running.

Hey Dennis. We've identified the issue and are looking at best ways to solve it. Your app is configured exactly as should be so once we fix it pagination on the feed page should just start working.

I'm afraid I don't have an ETA right now but I'll post back here when it's patched.

and I thought I was going crazy - thank you so much, this will be really helpful!

Please remember to post back, this is the core to make my app work ๐Ÿ™Œ

Of course. We should have a patch in the testing env today. Whether it makes it to production today will depend on what else is pending release on the backend.

Will keep you posted ๐Ÿ™‚
