Data doesn’t populate in details page

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hello everybody,

After 3 days searching what I’m doing wrong with the Airtable API requests, I’m asking for community help.

I watched the “Bravo Tips” series on YouTube over and over again about the get request for list and detail and couldn’t figure out what’s going well and what doesn’t.

I’m well able to retrieve the right fields as I see them when I want to populate my fields. The problem is that if the list poupulates itself very well with the data I want. The detail page stays “blank” and does not populate at all.

Does anyone has an idea of what could be the problem ?

Thanks in advance for your help 🙏🏼

Hey  ,

New user here as well but after a little bit of straggling, I was able to set it up for my project so maybe I will be able to help.

By populating You mean data binding, right? (where you select your design layer and name of the date)

If I'm reading it correctly You were able to bind those for the listing page. Have you done it for the details page as well?

Both pages must be bound separately using different API requests (both GET but slightly different URLs).

yes. As I said, I set up the 2 GET requests perfectly for lists and details.

And yes, by populating I mean binding. I see the fields in bravo and I can select it, but the data doesn’t show in the required fields in the app.

My guess is that the data doesn’t match the ID in the list..

ok, and can you confirm that your GET request for the Details page ends with a variable (something like "/${id}") and nothing more? (so not "id=rec9gwgwgwtwe")

In the YouTube series, You've mentioned they enter "id" into the "Parameters" tab (now "Query Parameters") which I think would create a "static" URL that points at one exact record.

This video: https://youtu.be/PLcgXR1OoAc?t=235 shows it better I think although it's also not perfect (I'm sure I've watched a video with a better explanation but I can't find it now; will reply again if I find it)

perfect !
Thank you for your time.
I’ll check tomorrow and I’ll let you know if it helps me 😁

check the name of the variable in both requests on “selected data”, check the prototype link between the item that repeats and detail page. Maybe your problem isn’t on the data, it is on the design. Hopefully with those check it will work!

I found the problem. I was very dumb on that one.
I was trying to retrieve data from a list of one table first, the retrieve the "details" from another table 🤦‍♂️

Feel so dumb.. But I won't do the same error twice 😛
Thanks for your help
