Firebase airtable managing users?

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

So I worked through the login users tutorial and managed to get adding new users to firebase sorted. I want to store some user data in airtable. My users create a list of movies they 'like' and i want to be able to store that as an array in airtable with their userID. The issue is getting the login data, I don't need their password just their name, uniqueID and then I can assign the array. So how are others integrating the firebase data in their app? I was thinking I would make a POST to the table in airtable and using the email input from the login page but it didn't work. I guess that is trying to intercept the secure login to firebase but honestly, I have no idea. Can I assign the user my own uniqueID after they have logged in? ask them to add a name and email again?

Hmm. Well if its that much of a pain I will probably bin all the Firebase stuff and just ask the user for and email and generate a userID in Airtable and use that. No security but its only storing a set of liked movie titles. Thanks
