Having issues implementing GET requests

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hello All,

We've been really struggling to implement any GET requests from our Xano Database. We've followed a bunch of different tutorials but none of them seem to work for us. However, through all of our struggling we have narrowed down the issues.

Right now, we can successfully run a Xano GET List and Detail List both on Xano and in our API Collection.

Our GET List successfully returns an array of our database:

And when we hook it up in Data Binding, it seems to work, however it always returns the first record value in whatever Column we choose, rather than what the user inputs

However, on our List request it can't seem to find a database to pull from or select in Data Binding.

And this is what our List API looks like in Bravo in case that is relevant

Overall, we are just very confused. We believe the issue may relate to Bravo not knowing which input to find a record from. The way we have designed the app, is that users signup and use a POST Request on this page to update our database (which works):

And then the next page is the home screen with the Group Savings Header I showed in the second image. We want whatever the user inputted into the Group Code in the form to be searched in our database, and to GET the Group Savings associated with that code.

I personally suspect the issue is related to Bravo not knowing which input to look up, but we will appreciate any guidance you can give!

  1. You are not using user accounts, right? So the user has to input the form every time they open the app (for Bravo to be able to fill the variable).
  2. With your detail request you don't need to bind the frame, that is only necessary for lists
  3. It makes no sense to me to use the same variable in the URL as well as the POST body in screenshot 5. What's your setup there?
