Is it possible to create a bookmark-/favorite system without Xano and without own code?

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

So, Bravo Studio has a tutorial on creating such a system with Xano. Unfortunately, an already discounted price of $67 per month on a pay-per-month base (yearly not possible for me, undiscounted monthly is $134(!!!)) is way too expensive for my small hobby projects and the cost for Bravo alone is quite hefty for me.

Now to my question: Is it possible to create a bookmark system (on a per user base) without Xano and without coding a long script? The use of n8n would be totally cool tho.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hey Marvin,
totally see your point with Xano's pricing. The tutorial explains a concept that works with any tool. You could use Airtable for example or any other really. However, some kind of logic is required on the backend side so Airtable for example alone wouldn't work. Having a small script is probably the easiest and cheapest (think Autocode e.g.). If you want to go full no code n8n would work too I guess. I haven't done a real project with it before but it seems to have the capabilities. You basically rebuild the flow of the script with visual elements. Let me know if that helps and if you have further questions :)

Mysql, go to NameCheap.com and get some space for $20/yr. Included is free PHP and MySql. You can learn to do this in a day.

Hi   and ! Yes it is possible to do it with airtable. I did it already. One favorite list per user. You have a main items list and each user can create is individual favorite list. But you hou need to havexa login sistem as example with firebase to create a user.id. if not you can only use devise.id.

Hey there, thanks for taking the time. I will try n8n as my second option,  mentioned that you can do this with Airtable alone, so I'll try that first. The less tools involved, the better.

If I can acchieve that with Airtable alone, I might create a little tutorial on how to do it.

Hey Valter, thanks for taking the time too. How would you do the favorite list in Airtable? What field type would you use?

Valter November 11, 2021

to do it i can let you know that its a realy complex logic in Airtable and you will need to use some formulas in Bravo's GET requests, there will be 2, plus one POST.
If you could not get there ket me know and will see if i can take some print screens to explain.

I guess the screenshots would be awesome. I'm a very new Airtable user, so I guess it will take a lot of time for me to figure out how it works.

You have to create 2 tables. One as main list and the other to writ the POST (remote:action). You have to creste a conection between the to tables using "link to other record" and "lookup". The POST action will write the user.id and record ID, this record ID is the one that will reflect de user.id on the main list.

I was ablec to do it with just one week of airtable. Its no problem. Its jyst logic : )
