Location Services / Geolocation

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hey everyone! I'm about to start building my app with Bravo and wanted to ask if it's possible for me to add a functionality to allow users to share their geolocation. After doing so, the app would show restaurants near them based on their current location.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

We are currently working on this feature! You'll be able to use your current latitude and longitude in your API calls. Stay tuned 😎

Oh nice. I must have missed this on the documentation page. Anyways, so that I understand this - is entire process (send co-ordinates) and receiving geo location coordinates  from Google places or HTTP bin or Location IQ, done from Bravo as the front end?

Basically, if you use the [require:location] tag in a page of your Bravo app, your device will request location permission. If accepted, you can access your latitude and longitude in the API calls you build in Bravo, using ${device.latitude} and ${device.longitude}
