Post Request

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Is it possible to post text that is not filled out by the user?

I don't want them to change the primary field in Airtable.

Solved this.

I created a text field in figma and added the input-text Bravo tag
In bravo I set up a get request from my primary field in Airtable.
In the input destination I added the post request.
I then moved this text box in figma so that it was under my [action:submit] button in figma and therefore hidden and not clickable.

Now when I click submit it posts my pre-filled data into Airtable.

An alternative (and simpler) approach to this is to use the primary field as a variable.

If you've done a GET request against a table, you must already have the primary field in a variable that you passed to that API call. So, rather than mapping an input to your POST call, just make sure you use the same variable name as the value of your primary field in the Body of your POST call and you should be good.

Thanks for this. I had named my variable differently in my get request vs my post and didn't know I could pass the variable like that.

This is a much cleaner solution and I will be using this moving forward.
