Question about Private network and API's

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

May not be the best spot but, I have recently discovered Bravo Studio and was wondering if the API has to be public to work. I am using Django Rest Framework but I don't want to give that server a public IP. Is there any way to have bravo work on the internal network?

Hi ,

The API must be reachable from the Internet, as it will need to handle connections coming from our servers. Also, it must have a valid SSL certificate (self-signed certificates won't work, for instance).

Cheers :)

We are having a similar situation to Atom. A question for clarity. I understand that the development environment will need API endpoints reachable from the internet. Is the same true for published apps? So if the app was developed with public API endpoints and then the endpoints were duplicated on a server on a private network. The API collection changed to the local private network URL (example: http://django.local/Switchuser?id=0&new=false). Would the debug APK work? And if the app was published to the app stores, would it work? Or does the published app always require traffic from Bravo servers and always require a valid SSL?

Really appreciate your advice.
