Question about QR scanner

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hello, Bravo Community! Can I scan a QR code with my phone’s camera and if the device has the app to open the restaurant menu and if it doesn’t have the app to open App Store or Google Play Store?

Hey @Bozhidar Gushev good one!

What you need here is a deep link that can detect if the app is installed. If it is, it opens the app; if not, it redirects the user to the App Store or Google Play.

If that conditional logic to detect the OS (Apple vs Android) is too complex to build, you can always create a deeplink with a simpler logic to simply say “Is app installed? No > then take to your landing page where you have more info about your app + buttons to both stores)

I think Firebase (I see now they’d be deprecating their dynamic links soon) or Branch.io are good options for this > https://www.branch.io/
