Self .html file webView

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

I created a small ".html" file (small html code with necessary tags) and I want to show it as a webView but since it's stored locally in my PC, the webView throws error of "file not found".

Is there any way where we can show output of our own .html files or some how integrate it using any other methods.
(I tried to find any html file complier/runner API so that via automations I could store the output but its not there)

How can I do this?
(I am currently researching on free FTP's (ex- BrickFTP) to do it in automations for this purpose)

If anyone have ideas and solutions kindly help ! πŸ˜ƒ

Would be interested if you figure this out! My understanding is that currently WebView needs it to be hosted online (i.e. the component is a mini browser)

But... that would be great if you could bake into the app some local .html or JavaScriptΒ

Maybe add this to the feature request thread πŸ‘€ πŸ™Œ

If its a small html file then you can host it freely on netlify or fleek even through github and point to it through the browser using webview tag, hopefully this helps u if I understand your issue correctly

Oh that's cool! Maybe?

I'm thinking I want to add a drawing tool to my app. But currently if I have to host that online, any lag in the web connection would make drawing on screen unbearable. Or if you wanted to draw offline that wouldn't work?

Maybe i'm wrong? But I'm trying to think how you could almost make native code in the app so theres no lag.

it worked, I uploaded my index.html on netlify, but I did not bought a domain and only used the pregiven netlify domain, its working in webView. Just have to figure out width and height of my html output.
Thankyou πŸ˜ƒ
if you want to have no lag then you have to buy these sites advance versions which provide 99.99% uptime (dedicated responses from their servers).

I will also try to find more approaches to solve this apart from what gave, will let you know if successful πŸ™‚

this feature is good but since this is a no-code platform and ecosystem, I think it could hamper the bond of the ecosystem.

I agree that the drawing would be bad if the website is not optimized for this use case. One thing to note is that your app probably won't work offline anyway. I'm not sure if you have already tried it?

Glad you found a solution. To make the website always fit your app look into how to achieve "responsiveness" through CSS :)

Divyansh July 23, 2022

I really searched this and now am reading full CSS responsiveness article to make it fit on every screen, this is really a new thing I learned, glad you helped.Β
Thankyou brother, you are there whenever we all need you 🀜 πŸ€›
