Store ${variable} on a GET request and use it on another GET request on the same screen

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hello there 👋🏼

I was wondering if I could use a ${variable} not for a lista nd detail or a form.

Lemme explain the situation here :
I'm doing a first get request that return me the userID
A second that return me the current dateTime

And I would like to store them as ${userID} and ${dateTime} to use them as query parameters in a third GET request.

But it seems like it's not working even if my 3 request are on the same page, so I'm wondering if Bravo is able to store some variable or not based on several API request on the same screen.

If any of you ever tried to do this I will be pleased to know how you've done it or how it went. Because I don't think that this is doable for now.

All my request are working with test value but not in the app and in the preview on BravoVision.

Feel free ta ask any questions if needed !

Thanks, Hugo 🌸

I had a similar issue before and couldn't find a way to solve this, maybe you could just change your third query so that it gets the first two parameters in the function itself

Arf that what I thought, I cant make it via Bravo then, would love to see this feature soon, could be so powerfull. For your proposition, I'm kinda limited because I'm linking my app to a Wordpress API that is independant, I cant modify it so I have to deal with what I've got. yhanks for you answer

Hi , this would be possible as long as the third API request is triggered after the first two (for instance, with a remote action). Feel free to describe the specific case more in detail, and we can help you find a solution!

Depending on your backend if you're using something like Xano you just create a function stack that excecutes in order.  Not sure how other backends handle it.
