Trouble with "submit" button

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

[Just wanted to update if a beginner had the same problems as I've had 🤦‍♀️
The frame around the form was missing the [container] bravo-tag!]

Hi!! I've been having some trouble with the "submit" part of a form and asking for help is my last hope! 🙏

I've been watching all videos I can find about how to make a form and having the data stored in Airtable.

  1. I've made a POST request that works every time I hit the send button in Bravo (API collection).
  2. I've used all the bravo-tags I'm supposed to do (i.e. [component:input-text])- and used the tag [action:submit] to the submit button.
  3. I've done the "bindings" as has been shown in multiple videos. I did not do anything with the submit button - it just has it "Harry Potter" ⚡ symbol and I was sure the action:submit-tag in Figma was enough.

Still, when I try the app in Bravo Vision, I always get an error message - the form simply does not wants to submit my data into Airtable database.

What am I missing or doing wrong??

Hi ! What does the error message say? Are you binding all the variables you indicated in the request JSON body to the corresponding UI elements?

If you don't manage to fix the issue, feel free to send us a link to your design file + Bravo project URL to support@bravostudio.app, and we can give it a look :)

Hi and thank you for your response .

The error message I get is the error message I made in the data binding site in Bravo Studio On Success/On Error.

It's yes to the question about the binding the virables in the request JSON body to the corresponding Figma elements.

The weirdest thing is,  I made another Airtable table (with just single line text), made another POST request and another form in Figma and THEN I could use the submit button.

Is it impossible for the POST request to include numbers (in previous form I had two other objects: an Airtable field with numbers and a Bravo tag was component:input-number) or a selection (an Airtable field with single select and a  correspondant Bravo tag with component:input-select:One,Two,Three)? Is it only possible to use single line text?

Best regards,
Hrefna.

hi Hrefna, you can definitely use all the Bravo-supported input types in your POST requests, as long as you construct the JSON body appropriately. You also need to make sure that the data format correspond to what Airtable is expecting to receive, you can test that from your API request in the Data Collections section.

Thank you. I found the thing I was missing: putting a [container] tag on the frame.
