Xano Pagination

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

I have a lot of records that I need to show like an infinite scroll such as Pinterest would be. How can I set up pagination within the app to work the same way as our backend is with Xano.

Has anyone been able to set this up?

Hi ,

Unfortunately, Xano implements JSON-based pagination, which we don't support at the moment. We hope we can find a solution for this in the future.

Also when I have 1000+ records on my API they are limited from bravo container to 200 records. Is there a way to remove this limit and display all records directly without paging?

Hi , actually this limitation is probably being enforced by the backend tool, since it's not always possible to return all the records in a single API response message. What tool are you using?

I'm using Xano. From Xano i get for example 960 records of links for pictures. When i want to show all of them like list of containers... The number of containers that is shows me on the bravo preview app is only the first 200. The question is whether there is a limit in the list of [containers]

you're right, we do enforce a limitation of 200 list items, which is the maximum we show in the app. Unfortunately, there's not an easy solution at the moment to handle pagination with Xano (since they have a JSON-based implementation we don't support at the moment). A solution could be trying to use a "connector" tool like Integromat/Zapier in the middle, or even a custom script, to "transform" the JSON pagination to a URL parameter-based format Bravo supports.

But if my logic is correct ... I can make a series of containers to show a certain part of the list. I need to transform the respons from xano so.. With 1000 records to make 5 containers of 200 records hmmm
Am i right?

I'm so heartbroken to learn this. I've done a whole app and just realizing I may be forced to start afresh since the results are long lists 😭😭

hey Josh, Xano is actually super flexible and allows you to create JSON in the function stack so you can use normal inputs like an integer to implement paging. You can find this method in our documentation

Just a heads up Xano does not require JSON inputs for paging. You can create the object in the function stack and take in inputs of integers for page and per page... you can see this in our documentation

Hi

Could you please point out what could be the issue here....

- the issue is you are trying to loop through an object instead of an array. This is due to your customized response. You'll notice in the response preview your response is captured with curly brackets { } meaning it's a single object. Loops only work with arrays which are denoted by flat brackets [ ]

I am afraid that is not the case, but please correct me if I am wrong. When I disabled (include metadata) option, it worked.
