IP Address of users

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Context:

  • I'm nearly done setting up my Bravo/Xano > Segment > Mixpanel analytics setup!
  • As users signup with Xano authentication, we log their: Email & Name

Question:
Can we also pull their IP address during the Signup Endpoint?

Why:
It would be used in mixpanel to tell users location for analytics.

Hi Alex - that’s great news. While I can’t answer your question.. I am at some point keen to know how you did the mix panel set as it’s a tool we like to use once we launch our MVP
.. thx

Thanks yeah analytics is a big request for all bravo users.

I'll share snippets once its finalized. In a nutshell its:
Xano > to Segment [via HTTP] > Mixpanel

Hi ,

I'm afraid this is not possible. However, IP addresses assigned to the mobile devices tend to be dynamic, so a unique user will most likely have several different IP addresses over time.

Gotcha thanks! I saw Bravo lets you request location data (long.lat), so that's probably a better solution anyway 👍

Hi all, bringing this thread back...
cc:

I had a question about getting a users Location for analytics.

My current tech stack:

  • Bravo Studio = Frontend (builds native android/iOS app)
  • Xano = Backend
  • Segment > Mixpanel = Analytics

Issue:
Currently Bravo studio has an issue where it doesn't give clear access to the users IP address, to use for location data. (I assume this is some type of issue due to the Low-code wrapper of Bravo)

Solution Idea:
Bravo studio does give you access to users location via. maps type data of Device.Longitude or Latitude. (documentation)

Question:
I don't see in the Segment or Mixpanel documentation if its possible to use Long/Lat in updating a users Identity or location. Does anyone know if thats possible?

Or is there a way to grab device IPs or something more obvious in Bravo?

Wrote something in this thread and want it removed? Request removal

Still stuck?
