Targeted Device Family Settings - Apple

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

I had originally built my app in appggyver and have switched to bravo studio. The appgyver app is live in the app store so I'm trying to submit and update using the new app built in bravo studio.

I received an error uploading the app because the original app had ipad functionality and with the bravo studio app it does not.

Suggested Fixes From Apple:

  • Fix their app so that it can work on the devices they originally set out to support. See Supporting All Devices for details.
  • Target a newer version of iOS that requires a newer device. See Targeting the Latest iOS for details.
  • Remove their app from the store, and upload the new app with a different bundle ID. See Replacing Your App in the Store for details.

Seems like the only viable option is the second one and I'm not sure how to achieve it. Can anyone help?

Can anyone from the bravo team answer this? It's a pretty big PSA for folks with lives apps switching to Bravo Studio from Appgyver...

At the moment Bravo doesn't support iPad devices, so it's not possible to update an app created as Universal (supports iPhone and iPad), due to an Apple limitation to drop support for family devices on app updates.

The second option as I understand is not viable neither, as you can drop support for old devices increasing the minimum iOS version requirements, but they don't allow converting an universal app into an iphone app at the moment. So I only see possible the third option at the moment.
