Best way to provide instructions?

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

I need to have an intro page after a user has logged in which will have instructions, probably a slider filled with instructions and possibly a video, but most importantly a button that I created to generate some sample content. (which is why they will need to be logged in).

I have a button on the home page to launch it now, but I don't like that it's always there.

Is there a way to have it conditionally be there based on an API result, or first-time usage, or empty db values something like that?

A modal popup would be fine as well, but it needs to not be something they don't see every time, just for the very first time to get some basic instructions and click my button that generates sample data.

Suggestions?

I have a tooltip integrated into my home screen you can only access once logged in, does that sound like something you'd want to integrate?

Thanks, am I reading this correctly that this only works if you're using firebase authentication?

thanks William that might work, but can you set it to only pop up automatically once?

I'd like to link to it to pop up manually from the users profile, but instantly the first time they login.

, thanks, lol, I forgot to ask you how you went about setting that up?  😁
