Bravo vision in iPhone vs Android

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

I originally made my app in Figma with iPhone 11 pro max as the default  and when I tested it in Bravo vision for iPhone(App store), it worked excellent as it is, just as I designed.
But when I opened it in Bravo vision for Android, it's not showing all the elements- like shadows, slider indicators looks different, sometimes images edited in Figma is not recognised, sometimes it do.

Is this happening because I chose frame of iPhone 11 pro max in Figma ?
or
I mean it feels like biased approach by Bravo b/w Android and iPhones? 🤔

Let me know what can I do

Same here. I concluded Bravo wasn't as good as it seemed. I fixed half of it by increasing padding and simplifying the UI with what works.

There needs to be some visual debugging here and there, and testing on both devices to make sure it renders properly on both ends. I haven't found a quick fix on this unfortunately.

Check out this video and see if it helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRwwCg0d618

Thankyou for the ideas, but I have already watched the video even part-2, I feel the apk we will get from bravo will hopefully work as we designed and not as shown in Bravo Vision with some visual errors (which also sometimes gets automatically fixed after 2-3 times I open it in Android)

This has nothing to do with choosing an iPhone in Figma. Figma just uses that as an example for aspect ratios, the operating system won't be touched. As the others have pointed out, there is need for visual debugging and that can be a bit tedious. It's important though to note that the exported APK will be very close to what you see in Bravo Vision, otherwise the preview would be kind of useless so you can be confident in debugging with Bravo Vision instead of an exported version.

Hi , Bravo Vision and the APK should be exactly the same. The only situation where they could differ is in case of a bug. In Bravo Vision, since it's in Google Play, it will most likely get automatically updated. If there's a bug fixed, you'll need to request a new APK to get the latest code changes.

In any case, we try to implement the same in iOS and Android, but there could be some slight differences. If you see something very obvious, please let us know and we'll take a look. I saw you reported a shadow issue. What differences did you see in slider indicators?

Divyansh July 12, 2022

the slider indicators in iPhone Bravo Vision appears like this:-
OOOOOOOo
Did you notice the last circle is small, which indicates there are more slides, which is a very good design by you guys.
Also if I am in 4/5th slide out of 8/9 slide it will appear like this:-
oOOOOOOo
(which is also an excellent work by you guys since it shows there are slides at front and last as well)

But in Bravo Vision Android:-
OOOOOOOO
This is how it looks, no small "circle" at the end, meaning they all appear the same size.
Did you got it? or should I attach images ?

Divyansh July 12, 2022

Ya thats correct, see how it looks for me in android :-

(did you notice how "pager" animations look, looks different, yes its how it is, even for all types of animations)

I will also share how it looks in iPhone, seriously looks just like it has to be and mentioned like in bravo docs.

in iPhone there is a more small dot like circle at the ends of slider indicators  , i will post images and ping you

Hello ! We are always aiming to have the same or similar experience on Android and iOS. We are using with Native components so that means some will have different experience since Google and Apple work differently.
However if there is a Figma styling misalignment or any component that is not rendering correctly in one platform or the other, then we appreciate to know it so we can fix it.

We try to make is similar but since we are not a hybrid platform and we delivery native experience sometimes is not easy or possible. 🙏

Well all your effort is appreciated and its perfectly fine as long as you are able to help out in this community. So it's okay! 😃

Thank you ! we are happy to help you guys!
