Guidelines for Figma designers

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hi

I am looking at one community Figma template that I wish to Bravorize and see that almost all elements are set up as variants.

1. Are there any documents which describe the best practice to refactor it before I start adding Bravo tags!

2. Are there any documents that I can give to designers (who do not know Bravo Studio) about how to design in Figma so that there are no conflicts and rework with bravorization.

Thanks!
Indrek

Hey Indrek,
here is a video I made about the very basics of converting a Figma file to be ready for Bravo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A\_Ih0ETwMa0
I don't think there is a comprehensive written guide for all aspects but I would recommend to have a look at the Bravo Tags master list before creating a new element from scratch. For example if you are trying to add a modal, have a look at the sample file for a modal.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the link Jonas (app.monster).   This has been, for me, the missing link.  I kept thinking that I just had to make a copy of my client's figma design and add the bravo tags.  I was very frustrated and wrong.  Your EasilyConvert video contains the key -- create a new figma file and create the design from scratch so it will work with Bravo.

Please make sure that all new Bravo Studio users get this as the number 1 step they have to take in order to Bravorize a client's design.

As always Jonas, Thankyou thankyou.  Mary
