Strange error, need a Bravo expert

Archived from the Bravo community forum (2021–2026). Some answers may refer to older versions of Bravo.

Hello everyone,

I am new to Bravo, but I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I love it !

I seem to have encountered something rather strange and I need an experts POV on this matter.

Long story short: I want to make an app wherein I can play sounds in mp3 format. It is to be used as a guided-tour app at a castle I work at.

I was having issues getting my App to work, so I was told to try out the meditation template from the website. I opened the meditation template in Bravo Vision on my phone and everything was working fine, until I changed the original URL in the [action:play:URL] from the sample to a different URL from the same website. I did this in Figma.

Original: https://www.bensound.com/bensound-music/bensound-summer.mp3

New: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/long-night-calm-warm

Of course, I also tried a couple of URL’s from other website like Bensound.com out to see whether that would fix the issue, which it did not. In my case, I want to play mp3 samples from my private soundcloud account. Specifically this https://soundcloud.com/voergaard-castle-audio-guide/eng-example

Can any experts or employees at Bravo tell me what I am doing wrong ? Is the example file from the official Bravo Website outdated or something ? I am really confused and also a little bit frustrated. Please help. 😅

Hey @Mads Thorup Sørensen, the URL should end with .mp3 otherwise it won’t work. Hope that thelps!

Hello @Marielle Ibias, Thanks again for the quick response.

Great, that clears it up. 🙂

Can you point me to or recommend an audio website that uses URL’s that end in .mp3 ?

Because every website I have tried out, that are similar to bensound.com (the website used in the meditation template example) does not provide me with sharing links that end in .mp3

As a matter of fact, it seems link Bensound.com does not do this anymore. I think maybe Bensound.com have updated their URL’s to not end in .mp3 and this might be where the issue is.

Here is a couple of examples from bensound.com:

Example 1: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/keep-it-real-positive-energetic
Example 2: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/happiness
Example 3: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/sleepless-suspenseful-trip-hop

See how none of them end in .mp3 ?

Here is the link from the example template for comparison: https://www.bensound.com/bensound-music/bensound-summer.mp3

I have a suspision that the .mp3 URL’s have been faced out globally, as I can’t seem to find any website that provides free audio samples that have URL’s that end in .mp3

I recommend you test it out yourself to see what I mean.

I find it a little bit misleading, that the official Bravo example template seems to work fine but in actuality it won’t work unless you use this one specific URL. That makes me, as a paying customer, a little bit concerned about Bravos integrity and authenticity.

Please proof me wrong, as I really love this software and want to recommend it to as many people as possible, but if this is how Bravo operates, I might not be using it in the future.

Hi @Mads Thorup Sørensen,

There are several hosting options that allow you to host music and share a URL ending with .mp3.

If you need a straightforward, reliable solution, Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage are highly recommended due to their robustness and scalability. For simpler and often free solutions, Dropbox and Google Drive can be sufficient with minor modifications to the URLs.

Additionally, services like SoundCloud and Archive.org also offer the ability to host MP3 files and provide direct links.

If you’re keen to use Bensound, I found the way to get the URL ending with .mp3. Simply download and from the download files, you’ll find the URL under “Where from”. For further info, I’d suggest inquiring to Bensound support.

Bravo supports URLs ending in .mp3, which is essential for the functionality you are looking for. While Bensound might have updated their URLs, other hosting options like those mentioned above still provide direct .mp3 links.

I understand your concern, but rest assured, Bravo's integrity and authenticity remain intact. The key is to use an appropriate hosting service that offers direct .mp3 links, ensuring compatibility with Bravo.

Thank you for your feedback, and we hope you continue to enjoy using Bravo!

Nice to meet you Mads! For sure your castle have a website, so, yes, I recommend you to host your music, you never know when other people change their URL addresses, add it to your own server as .mp3 and use that link ;-)
